New Addition To The Family

Here is a picture of the new addition to my family. The Viking Diamond is now enjoying it's new home with me as of last Friday. Viking was having a great deal last week and I traded in my Viking SE to get the Viking Diamond. I had been drooling over the Bernina 830, but I have almost every foot for Viking that will still work on Diamond, so I decided financially this was the best move. My Pfaff Creative Vision will still get plenty of work as at times, I have been known to have two machines going at one time. I "fired" up the new girl on Sunday and I was quite impressed with how she handled. Can't wait for more time to really break her in. Happy Sewing! Carole

Formal Night

SueAnne, Dad and I on one of the formal nights on the ship sailing through Alaksa. It seems that all our pictures show us with some form of drink in our hands. We did plenty of that and had a wonderful "father-daughter" trip. The updates to the Star Princess were wonderful and the whole crew was one of the best ever. Memories were certainly made on this voyage. Maybe I will be able to get back to my sewing machine this weekend. Carole

Zipping Through The Rain Forest....

Yep, this is me! I know, it's not a sewing, quilting or embroidery picture. I guess I wanted to show everyone that I am involved in other activities besides work and sewing. Ok, not often, but this was one exciting time! Carole

Home from Alaska

Home from Alaska where we had a fabulous time. It was cold and raining every day until we reached Victoria, BC. This did not "dampen" our spirits one bit. I was happy to get home yesterday and when we walked off the plane we sure did notice the temperature difference. I will have some great pictures to post later this week, but now back to the office. Alaska Cruise

We are currently at sea and on our way to Victoria, BC. This is the first day of sunshine on the trip and we are glad to see it. The rain and cold has followed us, but we have not let it dampen our spirits at all. I have had some wonderful time with my sister SueAnne and my dad and the cruise has been alot of fun. The internet and phone service has been terrible the whole trip, but I have managed some phone calls at some of the ports to phone home. I will be posting some pictures when we get home. We did the zip line in Ketchican through the rain forest. It was very exciting and I would certainly do it again if given the chance. We are having lunch with the Captain today at noon which is always nice. Dad and I made the most traveled passenger list again and SueAnne is coming as my guest. Dad also made the top 3 and will get an award this evening at the Captain's party. We have seen alot of old friends and made new ones along the way. I'm a little homesick for my dear husband, but Sunday is just around the corner. Watch for new posts with pictures next week! (I have also been to 3 quilt stores along the way)! Carole

North To Alaska

North to Alaska, the rush is on! I'm off for a 7 day cruise with my sister. Our dear, sweet husbands are going to hold down the forts here at home so we can enjoy some R & R along with our dad. We are looking forward to some time together. We have done this trip numerous times and never seem to tire of it. I am looking forward to being cooler and away from the office for a much needed break. If the satellites cooperate on the ship, I will try to post some pictures. Sewing will continue upon my return. I will most likely be having withdrawls from "no quilting".
Happy Sewing! Carole

Busy work week!

No time to sew, quilt or do any embroidery. I've been buried at the office trying to be totally caught up with everything before the holiday weekend. I just am not able to keep my head above water and even today after working 15 hours, I left the office with quite a stack to start on in the morning. Ok, enough boo hoo-ing.... It will get better, right? Nighty Night! Happy Sewing (to those who are getting time to do it) Carole
